Issue with sitemap plugin

Questions or issues regarding any Koken plugin.

Forum rules
As of late, we have been seeing cases where some of you have been posting multiple types of questions within a singular type of topic...

This makes searching here a nightmare for people whom are attempting to find out whether or not their question has already been asked, or possibly even answered. Therefore, I would like to implement some very basic rules, which I think everybody will be happy with, given that they will lead to better search results.

  1. All public communication is done in English
  2. ONE question per topic
  3. Make the title descriptive
  4. If it's regarding a theme: make sure you mention the theme name.
  5. Leave a URL to your site, since sometimes, custom "hacks" and CSS will be uniqe to your site.

I believe that these simple rules will not only make our lives easier, but also the lives of our visitors :D

I am of the opinion that ignoring these requests will make it harder for us all.
Plus, we won't be able to actually mark an issue/topic as solved, since it would be more difficult to determine what we're actually trying to solve! For example: Are we addressing the first, second or third question?

Issue with sitemap plugin

Postby Mads » Tue 23 May 2017, 02:34

Hi,

Do others have problems with the Sitemap plugin?

When I test the sitemap.xml in google tools, it reports problems with all the image urls in the xml file
It says they are not valid URLs.
Example:
/storage/cache/images/000/203/19052017-195846-00003,medium.1495314030.jpg
The address is pointing to:
https://www.google.com/storage/cache/images/000/203/19052017-195846-00003,medium.1495314030.jpg
Whay and how can I change it?
So they are pointing to the correct address.

Best regards,
Mads

I can only confirm this issue!

I have reached out to Nikolas, that is the author of the plugin, so we have just to wait and see if he responds

This issue is only related to koken 0.22.21 and above. It's caused by the new relative paths implementation koken has introduced with 22.21.

edit: I will have a closer look at the plugin and try to find a hotfix tomorrow.

I think that the rss function is also affected - because the images in my rss feed is also now pointing to a wrong webaddress.
Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks for checking, Bjarne - when do you sleep?

Strange, my images are not displayed in my RSS reader or in mailchimp newsletter as they are only pointing to /storage/cache/images...... etc .. and not the https://mywebsite.com/storage/cache/images...... etc
Same as with the sitemap plugin...

Your actually totally right! :o
It's my RSS reader that is "to smart"!

After forcing FF to show me the raw RSS source I can confirm your observation!

I have reported it: https://github.com/koken/issues/issues/55

And will try to "push it forward"
I'm pretty sure this will be resolved pretty quickly (The RSS issue)

Plus I have reached @pulponair and alerted him on the site map part of the issue
