Forum rules
As of late, we have been seeing cases where some of you have been posting multiple types of questions within a singular type of topic...

This makes searching here a nightmare for people whom are attempting to find out whether or not their question has already been asked, or possibly even answered. Therefore, I would like to implement some very basic rules, which I think everybody will be happy with, given that they will lead to better search results.

  1. All public communication is done in English
  2. ONE question per topic
  3. Make the title descriptive
  4. If it's regarding a theme: make sure you mention the theme name.
  5. Leave a URL to your site, since sometimes, custom "hacks" and CSS will be uniqe to your site.

I believe that these simple rules will not only make our lives easier, but also the lives of our visitors :D

I am of the opinion that ignoring these requests will make it harder for us all.
Plus, we won't be able to actually mark an issue/topic as solved, since it would be more difficult to determine what we're actually trying to solve! For example: Are we addressing the first, second or third question?

Custom meta description

Postby Kulturmensch » Mon 31 Jul 2017, 22:26

(Theme: madison site: tenckhoff.de )
I am just testing the plugin "Custom meta description". I set it up following the readme file. I used
{{album.description | album.summary strip_html="true"}} for album
and
{{content.caption strip_html="true"}} for content.
Nothing more.

The result is confusing. Sometimes keywords are derived as expected sometimes not. I checked either with the development tools of chrome and from edge, too.

Any idea?

Do each album & content have description/summary and caption?

Could you point me towards one example where it's working and one where it's not?

If it's a bug within the plugin, I would say you will need to make the author aware of it.

Look here: https://www.tenckhoff.de/albums/speziel ... nd-farben/, Browser: edge by MS
The test was as follows:
1. See the album and then open the developertools in chrome => keywords (in the head-section) are only the general keywords
2. Select one foto => Keywords remain
3. Refresh => Keywords disappear
4. Leave lightbox => General keywords appear extended by the expected new keywords

Do you think that this is the right behavior?

Re: Custom meta description  Topic is solved

Ahh I see the "problem"...

What is happening here is that when opening a img from a album will show the lightbox template in a iframe, that's why it appears as the keywords is not updating.
If you would access the lightbox URL manually or via search, the lightbox is opened in a "solo mode".
See the difference by accessing this url: https://www.tenckhoff.de/albums/spezielle-aufnahmen-formen-und-farben/content/unterwegs-in-wai-o-tapuneuseeland-i/lightbox/
And then go to https://www.tenckhoff.de/albums/spezielle-aufnahmen-formen-und-farben/and open the same image by clicking on it.

So yes this is a normal behavior :D
And the keywords works as one would expect.
