Questions or issues regarding Koken themes.
Forum rules
As of late, we have been seeing cases where some of you have been posting multiple types of questions within a singular type of topic...

This makes searching here a nightmare for people whom are attempting to find out whether or not their question has already been asked, or possibly even answered. Therefore, I would like to implement some very basic rules, which I think everybody will be happy with, given that they will lead to better search results.

  1. All public communication is done in English
  2. ONE question per topic
  3. Make the title descriptive
  4. If it's regarding a theme: make sure you mention the theme name.
  5. Leave a URL to your site, since sometimes, custom "hacks" and CSS will be uniqe to your site.

I believe that these simple rules will not only make our lives easier, but also the lives of our visitors :D

I am of the opinion that ignoring these requests will make it harder for us all.
Plus, we won't be able to actually mark an issue/topic as solved, since it would be more difficult to determine what we're actually trying to solve! For example: Are we addressing the first, second or third question?

AXIS2 and slideshow

Postby huber70 » Wed 07 Mar 2018, 14:53

Hi there,

another newbie on stage, nice to be here and good to find this forum :D

My question has alraedy been put to the koken help center, but without response, unfortunately

I bought (and prefer) to use the theme "AXIS2" - teher is only one problem, I couldn't solve, yet: within the slideshow features an orange frame in square format appears always and the picture (landscape format) is set in the middle of this frame - instead of top. I have no idea why this square-shaped frame in orange is created for and for what reason

I could not find a solution in the net for that - I appreciate any help in this respect,

thank you, best regards Peter/Germany

PS huber70 is the combination of nickname and age 8-)

Hi there Peter, welcome to the KCS forums :D :ugeek:

First off all, do you have an URL for me?
This to see the problem with my own eyes... :ugeek:

If you prefer not to post the site publicly, you can send me a PM with the link.

Hi Bjarne,

sorry for delay: I had to switch back to AXIS2 (used another in the meantime)...

the link is: http://www.haselau.com/koken/albums/flickr-photos/

You cannot see the footer/description as the distance to the bottom is as far as o the top - the position of the picture only switches to the right position (on top) when you click the picture again to enter the lightbox...

attached a picture of koken content while working at the PC

peter

sorry, first sent wrong link

Re: AXIS2 and slideshow  Topic is solved

Ahhh, now I see what you mean...
You see the orange border when hovering the slideshow while in the admin site view...
This is to tell you that there actually is action that can be perfomed for this object, and is not visible on the public site...

When it comes to the actually placement of the slideshow images, this is handled by the theme pulse javascript.

If you would want to force/over-ride it for the album slideshow images, you can try something like:

Code: Select all

.k-lens-album .pulse-content-container {
   top: 0 !important;
}
Hope this helps you :ugeek:

Hi Bjarne,

thank you very much, it works, slideshow images on public site are now on top - but:

picture titles and captions on bottom are still far away from the pictures (as the frame itself still exists) - any chance to place them (picture title and caption) on top (above picture)? that would make things perfect...

thank you, regards Peter

I guess this should be "doable" by moving the

Code: Select all

<figcaption class="text-content">...</figcaption>
above the

Code: Select all

<div class="slideshow limit_slideshow">
section.

The above HTML can be found inside the \layouts\album-slideshow.html :ugeek:

But before you do this, please remember to duplicate your theme by following these instructions.

If you don't do this, your edits will be lost in the next theme update.

Good morning Bjarne,

thank you so much, yes it works - as long as you look at the slideshow/entrance, when you enter the page. If you then click (accidentally or not) the picture again to enter the lightbox and you see the white arroe top left the description disappears back to the bottom

Good morning Peter :)
Off Topic
I need more of my coffee! :lol:

What is happening when you click on the image in the slideshow is that it opens up in the full screen mode called lightbox; that is why the description "vanishes" as it do...

If you want to avoid this, you can customize the "click action" for your album slideshows to do something else/nothing at all. :ugeek:
