Changing page title as shown in browser tab [Madison 2]

Questions or issues regarding Koken themes.
Forum rules
As of late, we have been seeing cases where some of you have been posting multiple types of questions within a singular type of topic...

This makes searching here a nightmare for people whom are attempting to find out whether or not their question has already been asked, or possibly even answered. Therefore, I would like to implement some very basic rules, which I think everybody will be happy with, given that they will lead to better search results.

  1. All public communication is done in English
  2. ONE question per topic
  3. Make the title descriptive
  4. If it's regarding a theme: make sure you mention the theme name.
  5. Leave a URL to your site, since sometimes, custom "hacks" and CSS will be uniqe to your site.

I believe that these simple rules will not only make our lives easier, but also the lives of our visitors :D

I am of the opinion that ignoring these requests will make it harder for us all.
Plus, we won't be able to actually mark an issue/topic as solved, since it would be more difficult to determine what we're actually trying to solve! For example: Are we addressing the first, second or third question?

Changing page title as shown in browser tab [Madison 2]

Postby udnews » Wed 13 Feb 2019, 20:06

Good day,

Site URL: https://henrik.udnesseter.no

I would like to change the page title as shown in the browser tabs. By default it shows "Page Title" - "Name of Website" (i.e. Contact - John Doe Photography) whenever you navigate away from the home page. I would like it to only show "Name of Website" on all pages, so it's the same wherever on the site you are.

Thank you,
Henrik.

I think you can do that from settings.

Could I ask more details what you require, maybe I can help.

You can change that from admincp>Site publishing> Page title

Hope that's what you looking for. :) ;)

Thank you Faust,

I guess I've mixed up the terms a bit here. As you point out you can edit "Page Title" in the admincp, but this is not exactly what I'm looking for, unfortunately.

This is what it says about "Page Title" in the Site Publishing settings:
"[Page Title] - Published to the HTML title tag of every page. Koken will automatically prepend this with content titles on the interior pages of your site."

I guess that, what I have highlighted here, is the feature I'd like to do something with. I don't want Koken to add titles from interior pages, I simply want the main "Site Title" to be the only title displayed for all pages, so no matter where you navigate on the site the browser tab only shows my name.

For clarification
In my admincp I have set both "Site Title" and "Page Title" to be just my name.

Salut,
Henrik.

That need some custom CSS i guess.

Usually it does show on all pages site name but after page name.

Example:

Content -- Henrik Photography

Or you want on all pages to be:

Henrik Photography ?

Sadly, I'm struggling with Koken as well, looks like is totally dead.

This is exactly what I'm trying to achieve. - Hopefully there's someone here on the forum with an answer for it.

Thank you for your replies, Faust.

Have a look in google.

I'm pretty sure that should be a simple CSS code.
